Holocaust is a large multiplayer map in Call of Duty 8: New World. It takes place in a destroyed city in Japan. As the name suggests, there was a nuclear explosion here, and in some areas hazardous radation of which the player can die. It is Japanese resistance vs. Korea. There are still several standing buildings, most of which are high buildings. If you go into these, you will find you cannot enter some rooms because debris is blocking your way into them. However the top of the buildings are an excellent sniping position, as this is a large map. Small roadblocks appear in a lot of areas away from the high buildings, so some pretty intense combat should ensue in those areas. There is this one brick house, the only short building on the map, that is next to some roadblocks. Often players contest over who can keep control of this house, as it is the only building on the west side of the map without large holes in it. Also on the west side are medium-sized ruins of some buildings, with 3 having roadblocks in them.

Trivia[]

  • Holocaust is based on the 2011 Japan earthquake, where a nuclear meltdown could've occured.
  • The high buildings are modeled after hotels.
  • This map looks similar to "Aftermath", a campaign mission in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
